James “Jim” Warren Vantuyl

Celebration of Life gathering for James “Jim” Warren Vantuyl, 67, Lawrence, KS, will be held at his home from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery will be at a later date. James passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at LMH Health.

James was born on December 26, 1953 in Monett, Missouri, the son of Warren “Bo” and Alice (Mustain) Vantuyl.

He was the owner of Vantuyl Motors and later Vantuyl Auto Center.

He married Brenda Sue Hull on April 26, 1986 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his two sons, Dustin Vantuyl, Perry, KS, Cody Vantuyl, Lawrence; two daughters, Amber (Jeff) Wilks, Baldwin City, KS, Shanna Vantuyl, Gladstone, MO; six grandchildren, Christopher, Baileigh, Coltaun, Elijah, Gavin, Jordan, and three sisters, Jan McConnell, Jeanie Douthitt, both of Florida, and Kerri Morgison, Lawrence.

Memorial contributions may be made in James’ name to the James Vantuyl Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
