James Runyon

Funeral services for James William Runyon, 90, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Free Methodist Church in Lawrence.  Private inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.  He died December 22, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 6, 1922 in Boone, IA the son of Glen and Jennie (Bentley) Runyon.

He was a farmer and retired in 1983.  He was a member of Free Methodist Church.

He married Mary E. Earll on April 5, 1944 in Boone Co., IA.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, DeVonna (John) Oehlert, Lawrence, a son, Leslyn (Karen) Runyon, Hutchinson, KS; one sister, Donna Foust, Jefferson, IA; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Laverne.

The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

The family suggests memorials in his name to Free Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
