A Memorial Service for Janet L. Holladay, 76, Lawrence, KS is set for 10:00 am, March 28, 2026, at Lawrence Connect Church, 3351 W. 31st Street, Lawrence, KS, 66047, followed by a time for remembrance at The Empire, 1527 W 6th St, Lawrence, KS 66044, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Janet passed away on March 4, 2026, at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS.
Janet was born on February 19, 1950, in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Henry and Eunice (Drake) Beers. She Married Sam Bryant in 1966 and remarried William Holladay in 1970.
She lived her entire life in Lawrence and attended Liberty Memorial High. She worked many jobs including Allied Signal, EFTC, and the University of Kansas.
Janet had built and enjoyed lifelong friendships from her involvement with local softball, bowling and pool leagues. Even earning a few trips to compete in national pool tournaments in Las Vegas. She has always been a fan of KU sports, particularly football and basketball.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Sherri Guenther (Brad), sons, Douglas Bryant (Martha), Paul Holladay, sisters, Wanda Getter (Scott), Susan Lately, Lea Anna Riley (Mike), brother Leroy Beers (Edna) and six grandchildren Tyler Baker, Lauren Bull (Wes), Miranda Bryant, Jordan Valle-Winsor (Rafael), Ana Kristina Holladay, Kristiana Celeste Holladay, and one great grand-daughter Weslynn Bull.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Anderson, and brother Lyle Beers.
In lieu of flowers, a monetary contribution could be made for final expenses, and The Lawrence Humane Society’s Resource Center, and may be sent in care of Warren-the McElwain Mortuary.
