Jennifer Ann Cox

Jennifer Ann Cox, 66, of Lawrence passed away April 10, 2015 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born July 25, 1948. Jennifer was the daughter of Jennings and Mildred (Fisher) McKinley.

She married Dennis Lee Cox on June 1, 1969, in Lawrence. The two moved to Denver in 1973 and spent 40 years there before returning back to Lawrence in 2013.

In Jennifer’s spare time, she enjoyed playing piano, a good game of chess, working on crossword puzzles and more recently Sudoku. She liked to be outside whether it was gardening, camping or cycling. She had a love for attending Lawrence high school reunions, and also for cats and KU athletics.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Cox; brother, Rowe (Becky) McKinley; niece Alexis Jones; nephew, Noel McKinley; great niece and nephew, Lucy and Felix Jones; brother-in-law, Ray Cox; two nieces, Jan Goff and Kristi Bray; nephews, Monte, Jeff, Tim and Mike Cox; and many close friends from Denver. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Gene Cox.

There are no services planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association and/or the The Sloan’s Lake Citizens’ Group (Denver) and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
