Jimmy Howell

Graveside service for Jimmy Dale Howell, 68, Lawrence will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mr. Howell died on August 26, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 22, 1941 in Koshkonong, MO the son of Jesse Ivory and Lydia Ethel Brazael Howell.

He worked for Meyers Dairy as a Truck Driver.  He also worked for Amusement companies as a mechanic.  Mr. Howell was an automobile driver.  He was a member of Mt. Oread Aerie #309, FOE, Lawrence.

He married Vicki Emick on September 20, 1975 in Lawrence.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include, one daughter, Cindy Creaden, Overland Park, KS; two sons, Jimmy Howell, Jr., Eugene, OR, Brett Patterson, Saint Petersburg, FL; six sisters, Thelma Mooney, Springfield, MO, Alma Sloan, West Plains, MO, Velma Smith, Cartwright, OK, Wilma Dunavin, Pittsburgh, MO, Nelma Brumley, Lawrence, Janice Moody, Olathe, KS; and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, J.W. Howell.

He will lie in state from noon to 9p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
