Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lawrence, KS. John passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Brandon Woods Assisted Living in Lawrence, KS.
John was born on August 10, 1930, in Lawrence, KS, the son of John Sr., and Margaret (White) Shepard.
He was a Police Officer for the City of Lawrence.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Shepard, son, John W. Shepard III, brothers, Harold Shepard, Stanley Shepard, sister, Virginia Shepard, three grandchildren, Kennedi Shepard, Ryan King-Shepard, Quentin King-Shepard.
John was preceded in death by a son, Richard Shepard, brother, Albert Shepard, sisters, Marjorie Shepard, and Linda Young.
