Joseph Leon Laducer

Joseph Leon Laducer was born May 14, 1957 in Belcourt, ND to Esther Klier. He attended and graduated both Wahpeton and Flandreau Indian Schools. Shortly thereafter, he married Marcia Goodall. Two children were born to this union: Florence and Lawrence Laducer. In the 80s, he moved his family to Lawrence, Kansas so that he could attend Haskell Indian Nations University. After graduation, he gained employment at the Haskell Health Center and Wal-Mart.
In 2004, he met and married Valarie Thompson. He lived and worked in Lawrence, Kansas up to his passing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther; his stepfather, Hank; and his sister, Debbie.

He is survived by his wife, Valarie; daughter, Florence and son-in-law, Dante; son, Lawrence; sisters, Karla and Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews and his seven grandchildren, Demetrius, Daiijah, Marcellis, Shon, Phillip, Anaye and Makpia. He enjoyed life, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 17th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
