Joy Lynn Tebo

Memorial services for Joy Tebo, 85, Lawrence, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.  The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.  Joy passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.

Joy was born on April 9, 1938, in Hill City, KS, the daughter of Edward P. and Mabel Irene (Conner) Fabricius.

Joy married her high school sweetheart, Ronald “Ronnie” Tebo on August 16, 1956 and was married for fifty-six years until his passing in 2013.  They started their family in Norton, KS and moved to Lawrence in 1979.

Joy was the office manager for Lawrence Surgery Associates for almost 30 years prior to her retirement.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid fan of the University of Kansas football and basketball teams.

Survivors include her two daughters, Deanna Phillips, Dana Tebo; one granddaughter, Madelyn Phillips all of Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son-in-law Terrence Phillips.
