Joyce Bowen Chamberlin

There are no formal services for Joyce Bowen Chamberlin.

Joyce passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the age of 69 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.

She was born on October 28, 1949 in Lawrence, KS to Ben Bowen and Helen Farley Bowen. Joyce attended Lawrence Schools.

After working for several years at various jobs in Lawrence, Joyce moved to Osage Beach, MO to work at the Tan Tara Resort for several years. She then moved to Phoenix, AZ where she met and married Chip Chamberlin. They relocated to San Diego, CA where she worked at various auto parts businesses. Chip preceded her in death in 1994.

She returned to Lawrence in 1999 and worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts until her retirement in 2009.

After retirement, she volunteered on the St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee for many years and also volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity Restore for the last several years.

She is survived by her sister Terry Bowen, her nieces, Cara Heath and Bailey Hill, two great nieces, Tyana and Amiiya and great nephew Keyondre, a handful of cousins and her beloved dog, Cosmo all of Lawrence.

Her final wish was to be cremated and her ashes sprinkled in the ocean along with those of her beloved husband Chip.

A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
