Judith C. Brunner

Memorial services for Judith C. Brunner, 87, Independence, MO, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ 727 N. Main St. Independence, MO. Judith passed away on June 23, 2025, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence, KS.

Judith was born October 17, 1937, in Monroe, Wisconsin, the daughter of Cloyd William and Lois Bueschacher (Pickett).

She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mom and spending time with family. She was an avid reader.

She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Independence MO.

She married Gerald A. Brunner on March 16, 1957, in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death, as well as her parents and sister, Shirley Dunham

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca “Becki” J. (Mike) Kersten; two sons, Jay A. (Debbie) Brunner, Kerry J. Brunner; and brother Kenneth (Diane) Pickett and a grandchild, Jamie (Amber) Brunner.

The family suggests memorials in Judith’s name to the St. Jude’s and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
