Judy Loraine Sanford

Judy Loraine Sanford, 75, Lawrence, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2026. Judy was born on June 5, 1950, in Miami, FL, the daughter of Charles Lee and Martha Frances (Brock) Sansing.

Judy married Walter Lee Sanford Sr. in Ringgold, GA on January 24, 1977, and he preceded her in death.

Judy worked as a cashier at Wal-mart for 27 years, while caring for her family. She was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church for over 30 years and was very involved in the ministries of the church. She helped in Sunday school, the bus ministry, prison outreach, and sang in the choir. If there was any activity or service at the church, she was always there. It was her heart’s desire for people to come to church, but more importantly, to know her Saviour.

Family remaining are her children, Rochelle L. King, Daniel Craig Sanford, Frank Joseph Sanford, Brian Elliot Sanford, siblings, Mary Nell Smith, Patricia Ann Lovelady, fourteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her siblings Tommy Sansing, Lydia Edwards, Larry Sansing, Charles Sansing, Phillip Sansing, and Allen Sansing.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 30, 2026, at Heritage Baptist Church, 1781 E. 800 Road, Lawrence, KS 66049, with a visitation starting at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judy’s name may be made to Heritage Baptist Church.
