Kenneth Love, 62, passed away on Sunday evening, May 6, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, KS.
Ken was born March 19, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Dalton Love and Barbara (Hoeflin) Schweitzer. As the son of a pastor, Ken grew up throughout the Midwest from Kentucky to Michigan and spent time around the world while enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1985. Ken was a mechanical engineer specialized in radiation machines and over the years worked for Varian, OSI, and RS&A in addition to owning K. L. Biotech for a short period of time.
Ken married Diane M. Holden (Brandon, VT) on March 19, 1987 in Cyprus. Together they spent time in Ohio, Texas, Indiana, and finally Kansas. Ken is fondly remembered by his hobbies of flying kites and slight of hand magic tricks and his love of sports.
Ken is survived by his mother, father, step mother Margaret “Peggy” Love, wife, his daughters Morgan (Matthew) Graham of Temple TX, Carly Love of Columbia, MO, son, Bradford Love of Denton, TX, two sisters, Martha Love of Avon Lake, OH, Sara (Larry) Tyburczy of Broomfield, CO, one step-brother, Steve (Lizabeth) Kelley of Westerville, OH two step-sisters, Ann (Chris) Davies of Rocky River, OH, Ruth Morgan of Australia, and two grandchildren, Meadow and Brennan Graham, and one on-the-way, Summer Graham. Ken is preceded in death by his step father Lawrence “Larry” Schweitzer.
There will be no service. However, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Ken. Arrangements are under the direction of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, Kansas
