Larry Ray Johnson, 77, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, at his home in Eudora, KS.
He was born on January 9, 1949, in Clifty, Arkansas to Oscar Ray and Marjorie Elnor (Kales) Johnson.
Larry retired from the Santa Fe Railroad, where he built not only a career but also lasting friendships that he treasured throughout his life. He touched many lives through his deep automotive knowledge and his sense of humor, which he shared freely with friends, family and anyone who asked. He loved drag racing, classic cars and spending countless hours in his shop tinkering on anything with an engine. The friendships he formed through the railroad and the drag-racing community remained an important and meaningful part of his life. Above all, his greatest joy were his daughters and grandsons, who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his daughter Kelli (Paul) Senker of Eudora, KS; two grandsons, Elias McDonald of Moncure, NC, Braden Remmert of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Carol Johnson of Tonganoxie, KS, Sandra Lewandowski of Tonganoxie, KS, and his former wife Pamela Johnson of Leavenworth, KS.
