Funeral services for LeaAndrea M. Johnson, 40, Lawrence will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS. LeaAndrea passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS.
LeaAndrea was born on May 9, 1981, in Ottawa, KS, the daughter of Lee A. and Quintella (Carroll) Johnson.
As a child LeaAndrea attended Bethany Chapel Baptist Church, Ottawa, KS.
At the age of four, LeaAndrea began her lifelong love of the performing arts taking tap and ballet lessons.
She then set forth into music and art at the age for five. And began her journey of becoming a brilliant pianist and musician.
LeaAndrea was an exceptional student in all grades. She expanded her musical talents at the age of eleven joining the percussion section at Ottawa Middle School. She continued playing percussion for the rest of her schooling, eventually joining the Chesty Lions Drumline at Lawrence High School, where she graduated in 1999.
LeaAndrea developed her love of art during high school. She was awarded a full-ride scholarship to Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2004. LeaAndrea found a career as a freelance artist and an ARC specialist for federal contraction Company.
LeaAndrea is survived by her parents, Lee A. and Quintella Johnson, sisters, Aletra Johnson, LaShea Johnson, Whitney Johnson, nephew, Pierce Johnson; Brother Darroll Graham and a host of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made in LeaAndrea’s name to Lupus Foundation of America and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
