Leon “Ray” Freels

Graveside services for Leon “Ray” Freels, 76, Lawrence will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor.

Ray was born December 15, 1939 in Mountain Grove, MO the son of Lawrence and Mildred (Estep) Freels.

He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as an Airman 1 ^st Class.

He enjoyed bowling, golf and playing pool at the Senior Center.

He worked at Quaker Oats until he retired in 1996.

He married Ruby Stone October 18, 1958. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his brothers, Earnest Freels, Mountain Juliet, TN, Keith Freels, Clatskanie, OR; and nephew, Raymond Stone, Lawrence, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; and sister, Rosemary.

He will lie in state from 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday, February 28 ^th at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Parkinson Foundation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
