Lila Swanner

Memorial service for Lila Swanner, 82, Lawrence, will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.  Burial will be held at a later date at Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, KS.  She died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Mrs. Swanner was born July 23, 1928 in Hartford, KS, the daughter of Paul and Opal Grace (Spencer) Baysinger.

She was a bookkeeper for Truzillo construction company.  She was a member of the North Lawrence Christian Church.

She married E.W. “Bill” on July 28, 1945 in Hutchinson, KS.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Rita Hardesty, Oskaloosa, KS, Jo Fietkau, Lee Summit, MO, and Jan Klienow, Edwardsville, KS, one sister, Pauline Johnston, Wyoming; one brother, Dean Baysinger, Madison, KS; Five grandchildren, Marlena Bleil, Kirsti Petesch, Jason Harris, Erin Brown, and Travis Klienow and Eight great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Marvel CiAnne; one sister, Janet Walker; and one brother, Duane Baysinger.

The family will greet friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday August 4, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the North Lawrence Christian Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
