Linda was born June 25, 1950 in Lawrence, KS, daughter of Duane Gerald and Antonia (Garcia) Davison.
She worked in administration for Santa Fe Railroad before working in administration for the Office of the Provost at the University of Kansas until she retired.
Survivors include her two sons, Anthony Duane Benitez and Damon Esteban Benitez; two granddaughters Lauren Kay Benitez and Santana Capri Benitez; one grandson Eric Michael Benitez; one sister, Christina Rene Davison; and two brothers, David Duane Davison and Dennis Dean Davison.
Linda was a person who always put others before herself. She worked hard every day for 30+ years to raise two sons on her own. She put both boys through college on one income. Linda had something special that drew everyone to her. Her love made people feel like family and her determination inspired others. Linda taught the people she loved how to look on the bright side of things, never judge a book by it’s cover, and that it doesn’t matter how you got knocked down, what’s important is how you get back up. Linda always managed to get back up with a smile and unforgettable laugh which made her a hero to all who met her. Her strength and determination is the legacy she has left to her family and friends.
Memorials may be made in her name to Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
