A Celebration of Life for Linda Faye Watson, 63, of Lawrence, Kansas will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary; 120 W 13th Street, Lawrence, KS. Linda passed on September 14, 2026 at her home.
She was born on October 19, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William V. and Ruby H. (Gill) Cox.
Predeceasing Linda are her parents, and her brother Steve Cox.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather Watson, of Redmond, Washington; her sister, Tracey Boswell, and her nieces Chelsea Salvo and Barbara Boswell.
Linda enjoyed her work helping people find health coverage. She was well-liked and awarded in her role and she found meaning assisting others in navigating a complicated system.
She loved the companionship of her dog Pepper and spending warm days in the pool. She maintained friendships with her high school friends and others she met throughout the years. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, getting together for the holidays, or just catching up over a meal. Linda had a joyful attitude and enjoyed whimsy; her life reflected her free spirit. She loved unconditionally and never held a grudge. She always brought a smile and a hug. She will be missed.
The family suggests memorials in Linda’s name to Lawrence Humane Society.
