Graveside services for Lois B. Gish 96, Lawrence, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, KS. She died August 25, 2017 at Brandon Woods.

She was born May 4, 1921 in Douglas Co., KS the daughter of Irvin S. and Etta A. (Pence) Flory.

She married Robert Nelson Gish in Douglas County, Kansas.

Lois was a homemaker. She also worked at Hercules and Hallmark Cards. She was a former member of the Autumn Club and a long-time volunteer for the Douglas County Election Board.

She is survived by her children: Robert “Bob” Gish and wife, Joan of Eureka, CA, Larry “Dean” Gish of Lawrence, KS, Donald Gish and wife, Cheryl of Overland Park, KS, Judy Logan and husband, John of Temecula, CA, and Gary Gish of San Diego, CA, sons-in-law Bob Cawley, Eudora, KS, and John Scott, Blue Jay, CA, 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Nelson” Gish; two daughters, Barbara Cawley and Patricia Scott; daughter-in-law, Marge Gish; siblings, Orville Flory, Paul Flory, Dudley Flory, Bonnie Sanders; grandson, Robert “Bobby” Cawley, Jr. and great-grandson, Derek Parker.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her name to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
