Mass of Christian Burial for Lonna Denise Hamm, 52, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence. Lonna passed away December 26, 2024, at Bridge Haven in Lawrence, KS.
Lonna was born February 8, 1972, in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Larry and Martha Mitchell Hamm.
She attended St. John Catholic School, Central Jr. High and graduated from Lawrence High School. She then graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in fashion marketing and business. She was a member of the AKA Sorority Kappa Pi Chapter and was president of the chapter. She was part of Diversity Counsel and volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. After college she worked in St. Louis in marketing and then moved to Tulsa, OK and was employed by the Wells Fargo Company for 18 years in Tulsa and the Kansas City area in Finance and Banking.
She loved music and attended numerous concerts. Spending time with her kids and family was very important. She enjoyed planning and going on vacations, shopping, watching a good movie and eating out. She had a knack for interior design and fashion.
She is survived by her parents, Larry and Martha Hamm, her sister, Colene (Andrew) McWilliams, two children, Lauren and Desean Anderson, two grandchildren, Elijah James and Jade Denise; companion, Michael Anderson; nephews Kyle and Zachary McWilliams and host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam and Sara Mitchell and Harriett Baskerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
