Mary Eileen Flory

d. March 30, 2025

On March 30, 2025, Mary “Eileen” Filbrun Flory took her last earthly breath as she grasps the hand of her Creator God! We know many were expecting her at worship that morning, but she was in the glory, Worshipping… as the hue of green, springs forth!  Imagine what it must be like!

Eileen was born March 12, 1943, giving her 82 yrs and 18 days to bless those she came in contact with.  Mom was united in marriage to Delbert Eugene Flory, May 26, 1963, with his son, Wesley Allen; they started a family together! This family was then blessed with Janece Elaine and Terri Lynn.  Mom committed her soul to Jesus Christ on June 4, 1961, where she remained faithful until her final breath.  She was a part of the Old German Baptist Brethren, New Conference fellowship, where she had many many cherished relationships, that she considered family.  Mom was born in Ohio and lived there in her teens.  At their marriage, she and dad resided in Kansas.  In her early years, mom went by “Leen” to many, which transitioned to “Granny Tilt” these last years.  Mom was a true helper to dad; she loved farming and milking.  She ran a drapery business for many years while their family was young.  She worked for many years in the Baldwin Schools system in the cafeteria, from which she retired.  These jobs blessed mom, as she loved sewing and baking… and meeting many people.  She had a true heart for hospitality, everyone was welcome into her home, and she was delighted to have them!  It was always a treat to have a cinnamon roll or long john from mom’s kitchen.  As mom got a little older, she understood loneliness, she missed driving the combine and tractors.  She would never admit the equipment became too smart and big for her; so she began sewing, crocheting, and knitting for different organizations that would take her things for those in need; including the homeless, premature babies, and the Art center in Baldwin.  She felt she needed to keep her mind busy… she got to the same state as her mother… she would crochet or knit and see a mistake…rip it out and start over.  I don’t think mom ever realized she was doing what she chuckled about her mother doing.  Mom was given the privilege to keep her great grandson, Colton.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years: Delbert Eugene Flory, her parents: David and Mary Filbrun, in-laws: J. William “Bill” and Vida Flory, daughter:  Terri Lynn Landes, brother: Robert Filbrun and sister-in-law: Linda Filbrun.

Surviving to miss her greatly is son: Wesley Allen (Mary), daughter: Janece Elaine Holsinger (Bruce), and son-in-law Mark Landes, (Clara).

Seven grandchildren: Amanda Sprengeler (Tim), Kirby Flory (Tracie), Corbin Holsinger (Dylena), Trevor Holdinger (Rachelle), Taran Flora (Burke), Kyra Fay (Ryan), and Derek Landes.

Thirteen great-grandchildren: Colton Sprengeler; Credeyn, Celteyn, Cleyele, Cexeyn Holsinger, Laityn, Kason, Oaklyn and Kenndy Holsinger; Tatum, Liam, Emorie and Sully Fay.
