Mac Christy, Jr. of Pomona, Kansas passed away October 13, 2021 in Tonganoxie, Kansas. Mac was born March 22, 1933, in Evanston, IL to Martha Fritch Christy and Andrew McCollough Christy.
Mac served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1972. Following retirement from the military, he worked as a vocational instructor and businessman. He was one of the organizers of the Edsall Class Veterans Association and spent considerable time in Galveston, TX maintaining and restoring exhibits at Seawolf Park.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Westblade Moreano Christy of the home, his sister, Nancy Christy-Moore of Surprise, AZ; his children, Patricia Ludwig (Steve) of Waukegan, IL., Tim Christy (Brenda) of Arrow Rock, MO., Tom Christy (LeeAnn) of Salina, KS., Colin Christy (Connie) of Turkey, Lisa Beery (Chuck) of Salina, KS., Pam Bobik (Arthur) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., stepson Phillip Moreano (Sara) of Lawrence, KS., 20 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pomona. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon at the church.
