Marcille Jean Lortscher

Funeral services for Marcille Jean Lortscher, 92 of Lawrence, KS will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m., at the Centralia Cemetery in Centralia, KS. She passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Marcille was born January 31, 1925 in Centralia, KS, the daughter of John Raymond and Iola Mae (Armstrong) Wohlford.

She graduated from Centralia High School in 1943.

She retired as layout operator for AT&T in Lee’s Summit, MO.

She married Harlan Dean “Jack” Lortscher of Bern, KS in 1967. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ferne McClary, Ruth Sullivan, Maxine Gruetze and one granddaughter, Rebecca Morris.

Survivors include her three daughters: Carolyn Braden and husband, Steve of Lawrence, KS; Julie Isham and husband, Harry of Belton, MO; Lorna Stewart and husband, John of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren, Kelly Morris, Cory Stewart, Kathryn Morris, Daniel Stewart, Joey Hartegan; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in her name are requested in lieu of flowers to Salvation Army or Operation Smile and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
