Marge E. Gish

Graveside services for Marge E. Gish, 71, Lawrence will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, KS. She passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at her home.

Marge was born November 22, 1944 in Lawrence the daughter of Harold Edward and Margaret Elisabeth (Carr) Hudson.

She graduated from Lecompton High School.

She attended First Southern Baptist Church and attended Senior Luncheon Group. She had a passion for genealogy and Bible study.

She was a file clerk for Laird Noller Ford and worked at Rod’s Hallmark Store in Lawrence. She was a homemaker while she was raising her children.

She married Larry Dean Gish September 1, 1963 in Lawrence. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Lorie Sawyer (Rick), Lawrence, Wendy Gish, Ontario, CA, Gail Gish Nelson (Ken), Lawrence; four grandchildren, Jessica Hamm, Amber Jackson, Gage Nelson, Griffin Nelson; four great grandchildren, Jaden Hamm, Cambry Jackson, Beckett Jackson, Jessalyn Hamm; one sister, Linda Skinner (David) Vacaville, CA; one brother, Harold Edward Hudson, Lawrence; an aunt; many nieces and nephews; and a very special group of ladies she lovingly referred to as the “Ford girls.” A special thanks to Lisa Chamberlain and the VNA Hospice Nurses and Aides…a big “thumbs up.” She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Nancy Foster.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the ALS Association – Midwest Chapter or Douglas County VNA Hospice and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
