Marie Spanier Kirkendoll

Services for Marie Spanier Kirkendoll, 80 of Eudora will be held at a later date. Marie died June 7, 2019 at her home, embraced by her daughter and son-in-law, with whom she had lived for 15 years.

Marie was born August 21, 1938 in Harbor City, California the daughter of Goodrich and Erna (Nielsen) Parmelee. Marie taught for the Los Angeles City School district as a bi-lingual elementary school teacher.

Marie was a brilliant musician and loved to sing and play the piano. She also enjoyed swimming in the ocean, taking long walks, talking about her favorite dogs (Kona and Mr. Sam), and making everyone around her smile and feel loved. Marie kept teaching all of us until her last breaths.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kirkendoll, son-in-law Michael Kirkendoll (both from Eudora, KS), son Tony Spanier (Long Beach, CA), and four grandchildren.
