Marjorie Knight

Graveside services for Marjorie Knight will be held at 3 p.m. on September 7, 2012 at Vinland Cemetery, Vinland, KS.  The graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Judy O’Neal, cousin of Steve Graves.

Marjorie was born on August 16, 1920 in Lawrence, daughter of Andrew John & Mary (Hammond) White.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Knight; sister, Gladys Cummings, brothers John and Kenneth Messenheimer.

Marjorie & John lived most of their married life in Borger, TX.  She continued to live in Texas (Amarillo) after his passing until moving back to Lawrence in 1998.

She enjoyed daily walks & visits to downtown Lawrence restaurants. (Mexican food was her favorite).  We will miss her, especially her bubbly personality.  She often called herself a VIP (Very Independent Person).

Survivors include Steve Graves (nephew), his wife Chris and their daughter, Kristy; and Mike Graves (nephew).
