Mary Virginia Crawford

Funeral services for Mary Virginia Crawford, 92, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Medicalodges in Eudora.

Mary was born December 17, 1923 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Frank L. and Cora Mae (Mealman) Tedrow.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the Square Delights Square Dance Club. She loved dancing and enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizens Dances.

She was a bookkeeper for University of Kansas in the Facility Operations for 15 years and retired in 1989. She also worked at Dillons prior to the University of Kansas. After her retirement she worked as a Personal Aid for the Bus Company.

She married Marvin Crawford on January 10, 1944 in Ottawa, KS. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Crawford in 2008 and her three siblings, Frank Tedrow, Ralph Tedrow and Marjorie Cannon.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Moore, Carol (Jerry) Hout, and Rita (Robert) Trybom all of Lawrence; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Medicalodges Activities Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
