Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Eugenia Walters “Jean”, 75, Lawrence, KS, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 23, 2024, at St. Johns The Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, KS, with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., also at the church. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Lawrence, KS. Jean passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Hill Country Nursing & Rehab in Dripping Springs, TX.
Jean was born on September 10, 1949, in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Pablo and Mary (Garcia) Nunez.
Survivors include her sons, John (Teodora Pogonat) Walters, Gregory (Christina) Walters, brother, Nicholas Nunez, sister, Maxine Nunez, grandchildren, Matthew, Gianna, Conner, and Owen.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John Nunez, Michael Nunez, and Pablo Nunez.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to Dementia Society of America and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
