Mary Rita Ingram

July 12, 1945 — December 16, 2025

Mary Rita Ingram, 80, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on December 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after suffering a stroke.

Mary was born July 12, 1945, in Guadalajara, Mexico, the daughter of Raymond Joseph and Mary Evelyn (Edwards) Davis.

Mary was a vibrant and unforgettable woman who spoke her mind with honesty and humor. She never met a stranger and shared her time and talents generously with everyone around her. Creative to her core, Mary poured her talents into ceramics, cake decorating, sewing, hanging wallpaper, and even illustrating a children’s book. Mary was also an avid collector of dolls, antiques, and other treasures that reflected her unique spirit. She also had a sweet tooth that couldn’t be tamed, always finding joy in life’s little indulgences.

Known for her strength, independence, and tireless work ethic, she paired those qualities with a dry sense of humor that could light up any room. If you knew Mary, you could probably picture her in her infamous cargo pants and sarcastic tee— because why waste breath when your shirt can deliver the punchline? She was unapologetically herself— a tapestry of complexity, courage, and wit, always ready with the perfect comeback. Mary was a force of nature who cherished the simple life and treasured her family most of all.

She is survived by her three children: Brandi VanRoss (James), Sean Ingram (Chela), and Kati Ingram; and six grandchildren: Matthew and Morgan VanRoss; Reagan, Hazel, Maxx, and Oz Ingram. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond Joseph Davis II.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Joseph and Mary Evelyn Davis; her former husband, Bobbie Wayne Ingram; and her husband, Lawrence David Larrew.

The family will honor Mary’s life privately and respectfully declines memorial contributions, but welcomes friends and loved ones to share memories and condolences on the funeral home’s website.
