Mary Martin

Graveside services for Mary Louise Martin, 81, Lawrence will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.  She died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 3, 1932 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Anderson and Lena (Young) Morris.

She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Scotch Cleaners for 18 years.

She married Jackie Gene “Jack” Martin on May 12, 1951 in Lawrence, KS.  He preceded her in death March 8, 2000.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Edgerton; three sons, Michael Gene Martin, Fred A. Martin, Eddie J. Martin, all of Lawrence; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.  She was also preceded in death by brother, Archie Morris; and one sister, Irene Welch in 2003.

The family will greet friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials in her name to American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
