Melinda Myers Price

Lawrence, KS—Melinda Myers Price, 67, passed away peacefully in her home on December 14, 2024. She was surrounded by the love of her family and the beauty she had so carefully cultivated in her life.

Melinda was born October 4, 1957, and brought a radiant light to all who knew her. She was married to Kevin Price, and they shared 43 years together. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Kaylie (Luke) Gugel and Julia (Dallas) Warner. Her siblings, Monica Germaine, Marc Myers, and Michelle Chantry, will forever cherish their memories of her. She was also a beloved grandmother to her four grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, L. Garrett Myers and Luise Myers, and her sister, Melissa Bramlett.

Melinda had a passion for life that touched many. A born educator, she shared her love of learning with countless children throughout her years teaching elementary school, preschool, and dedicating 34 years to teaching Primary in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her kind spirit and nurturing nature made her a beloved teacher and mentor.

Beyond her dedication to education, Melinda found joy in the world around her. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs and cats, and cherished her many friendships. She delighted in the beauty of flowers and nature, and her creative spirit found expression in her love of decorating, cooking, and reading. Melinda was always eager to learn and explore, with a particular fondness for travel, experiencing new cultures, and savoring diverse cuisines. Her time on the BYU Ballroom Dance Team sparked a lifelong love of dance and music, especially opera.

A woman of faith, Melinda was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of the gospel and her Savior Jesus Christ shone brightly in her service to others and her unwavering kindness.

Melinda leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3615 W 10th St, Lawrence, KS 66049, on Saturday, January 4th, 2025. A viewing will begin at 10:00 am, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am.

Interment will be at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, where many of her family members are laid to rest.
