Mike Lovell

Mike Lovell (56) was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Mike was born on May 19, 1966, in Santa Ana, CA, the son of Larry and Elaine (Long) Lovell.  Mike graduated from Lawrence High School and continued his education at The University of Kansas where he earned a BGS as well as an MBA. At KU he also met the love of his life Deann McDaniel. They were married on October 14, 1989, at Danforth Chapel, University of Kansas.

Prior to beginning his studies at KU, Mike served in the USMC. Because of his passion and concern for fellow veterans he served on the board of the Spencer C. Duncan Make it Count Foundation.

Mike was an active member of his church Hope Chapel, Olathe. He was an avid golfer, runner, cyclist, and camper. He was a SCUBA instructor for 20 years and enjoyed diving with sharks.

Mike retired as a Director of Product Management from DST, Systems in 2017.

Mike is survived by:  his parents, his wife, his beloved dog Kaya and his children Garrett Michael and Destiny Hannah. He is also survived by: brothers Ronald (Sheila), Jason (Amy), brothers-in-law Dean and Ken, nieces Isabelle, Allysen, McKenzie, nephews Austin and Alexander, and his numerous golf buddies.

A Celebration of life for Mike Lovell, 56, Olathe, KS, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at Hope Chapel, 12480 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS, 66062 with a Private Graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery (Green Burial Section) in Lawrence, KS.
