Normagene Glenn

Normagene Glenn, 94, passed from this life to Glory on January 22nd, 2020 at Arbor Court Independent Living in Lawrence, KS. Her memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Mission. Interment will follow at the church garden cemetery.

Normagene was born on October 19, 1925, and raised in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Lewis E. and Lena A. McKerlie. She married John Robert Addington on July 25, 1947 in Tokepa, Kansas and later married Charles Glenn on November 25, 2000; both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris Addington.

Normagene was a member of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church since 1951 and retired in 1999 after 22 years as secretary to the rector and parish. She has been a church school teacher, treasurer of the parish Episcopal Church Women, altar guild director and director of the Junior Daughters of the King. She also served on the vestry and has been a delegate to the diocesan convention. Normagene was devoutly faithful, engaged in life, loved to read, garden and golf. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Normagene is survived by her children, Stewart Ian (Anna) Addington, Abigail “Beth” Hartronft, and Mary Martha (Mark) Williams; grandchildren, Sarah (Beau) Columbus, Ian (Katelin) Addington, Anne Lynel Tucker, Nolan Williams and Lauren Williams; and the Glenn family including, Grant (Donna), Jennifer (Larry), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
