Norma Kurtz

Graveside service for Norma Jean Kurtz,76, of Eudora, Kansas will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2009  at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.

Mrs. Kurtz died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence.

She was born August 31, 1932 in Linwood, Kansas the daughter of Jessie Earl and Myrtle Gladys (Hubbard) Pritchard.

She was a life long Douglas County resident and moved to Eudora in 1948.  She was a homemaker and had worked ten years for Hallmark Cards in Lawrence, Annabelle’s and the several years at Eudora Nursing Home, both in Eudora, Kansas. She attended the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Eudora.

She married Carl V. Kurtz on August 17, 1948, in Ottawa, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 2008.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Folks, Eudora, KS; three sons, David, Ottawa, KS, Dale and Duane, both of Eudora; one brother, Ernie Pritchard of DeSoto, Kansas: one sister, Beverly Parr of Wellsville, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora, Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to American Diabetes Association and sent in care of the mortuary.
