Ouita Russell

Memorial services for Ouita N. Russell, 90, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  She died December 25, 2011 at Medicalodges in Eudora.
She was born July 24, 1921 in Lamar, Arkansas the daughter of Jess and Flora Bell (Cowell) Horton.
Ouita worked as a waitress at the Turnpike Restaurant and the Virginia Inn.  She was also a secretary for Laming Ford Motor Company in Tonganoxie.  She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed gardening and camping and enjoyed several winters in Texas.
She married Walter Earl Russell on March 15, 1966 in Miami, OK.  He preceded her in death on March 8, 1997.
Survivors include three daughters, Cleta Henak and husband, Ron of McLouth, Sandy Coulter and husband, Jake of Lawrence, Debbie Nall, Lawrence; one son, Larry A. Andrews and wife, Sue of Lawrence; one step-son,  Wayne “Andy” Andrews, Lawrence; one sister, Geneva Torneden of Irving, TX; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family suggests memorials in her name to Medicalodges Eudora or Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
