To know Pat is to know someone that mystifies the ordinary. Born to a less than wealthy family with 9 kids and parents still living in a depression mentality, Pat learned early to make do with what she had. This added to a work ethic that was instilled into all the children by her dad, Pat spend her life providing for her family. She let school after eighth grade to enter the work force and never left it until forced out by health problems. She would join her brothers and sisters shoveling snow, detasseling corn, working on the farm and any other way to earn a few bucks. Times were very hard during those years.

She married Paul, a Choctaw native, and had two fine children, Jennifer and Curtis. Paul passed away several years ago and Pat provided for the family as always. Pat worked at KU in Lawrence for 25 years to end her career when her health became a critical issue. She got accolades from everyone she worked for and worked with. An avid Jayhawk basketball fan to the end with no let up, she went to as many games as she possibly could even when she had to go in a wheelchair. She knew several KU stars personally over the years and relished every moment of knowing them. Although born and raised in Missouri, there was nothing better than KU for her.

Pat loved everyone and everyone loved Pat. She cherished her family, stuffed animals, angels, and butterflies to no end.

Pat is preceded on her journey to Heaven by her Mom and Dad, one brother (Ernest), 4 sisters (Martha, Marie, Shirley, and Lola) and her beloved husband (Paul). She is now having a blessed reunion with all of them. She is survived by two sisters (Wilma and Judy), one brother (John) and her children (Jennifer and Curtis) and a host of friends who have looked after her for years. Oh, and Mother Theresa– Theresa, you understand what we mean by that.
