Patricia “Pat” Dieckhaus

A visitation for Pat “Snappy Pat” Dieckhaus, 63, Lawrence will be held from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. She passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Pioneer Ridge after a brief bout with cancer.

Pat was born January 11, 1955 in Richmond Heights, MO, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Carney) Dieckhaus.

Pat attended Emporia State University where she studied acting and met many lifelong friends. Upon arriving in Lawrence in the early 80’s, Pat ran Snappy Gas and Bahnmaier Liquor for many years during which she was also the P.A. for KU Women’s Basketball games. After retiring in 2006 from the Post Office she enjoyed volunteering at the LMH South, where she continued to make many friends along the way.

Survivors include her brother, Mike Dieckhaus and family of Overland Park; her beloved dog Pepper; partner, Nancy Workman of Lawrence and “The Girls”, Madison Metsker and Megan Workman.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
