Patricia “Pat” Lashier

Funeral services for Patricia S. LaShier,78, Sioux Falls, SD, will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be at Pioneer Cemetery.

Pat LaShier died Sunday, November 24 at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.

Pat was born October 23, 1935, the daughter of Lloyd T. and Willie P. Stooksberry in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School, attended Cottey College, Nevada, Missouri, and received a Business Degree from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, in 1957.

She worked for the University of Kansas, first in the Department of Special Education and then in the Comptrollers office, where she served as Assistant Comptroller until her retirement in 1995.

She married William S. LaShier Jr. on May 10, 1958 in Amarillo, Texas.

She was a member of the DAR and PEO Chapter CT of Sioux Falls, SD.

She is survived by daughter, Hope (Bill) Hogan, son Scott (Becky) LaShier, four grandchildren, Jack Hogan, Hayley Hogan, Jessey LaShier, Seth LaShier, sister Cathy (Bill) Rathgeber, and nephews Bryan (Margaret) Rathgeber and Jeffrey Rathgeber.

The family suggests memorials to KU Endowment Association (Preservation of Pioneer Cemetery) or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Warren McElwain Mortuary.
