Phyllis Reed

Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis Kathryn Reed, 64, Lawrence, will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Mrs. Reed died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 2, 1945, in Garnett, Kansas the daughter of Clifford Briggs and Mildred Pickert.  She had been a resident of Lawrence for over 40 years.

Mrs. Reed worked in production at King Radio and retired in 2002.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

She married Raymond D. Reed in Miami, Oklahoma in May of 1967.  He preceded her in death in December 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Turner, Lawrence, and Michelle Spurling, Eudora; three grandchildren, K.C. Turner, Kayla Turner, and Devyn Spurling.  Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Briggs.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Heart of America Hospice or Lawrence Memorial Hospital Oncology Department and sent in care of the mortuary.

A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
