Rance Amerine

A Celebration of Life service for Rance Kevin Amerine, 60, Perry, KS will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2010 at Underwood Cemetery, rural Perry, KS.  A reception will follow at Buck Creek School, one mile east of the cemetery.  He died Friday, October 7, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 6, 1950, in Lawrence, the son of Carl and Norraine M. Roll Amerine.

Mr. Amerine graduated from Lawrence High School in 1968.  He also attended Barton County Community College.

He most recently held a variety of retail sales positions, worked on the family farm and he had also worked for Universal Insurance Company.

He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Quails Unlimited.

Rance enjoyed fishing, hunting, chess and poker and was an avid reader, and loved watching movies.

Survivors include; his mother, Norraine, Perry, KS; two brothers, Ronald L. Amerine, Belleview, FL, and Michael R. Amerine, Lawrence, KS; one sister, Carla, and husband, Murl Westheffer, Lawrence, KS; four nephews, Murl Jr., Michael, Chase, and Brett.

The family suggests memorials in his name to the American Lung Association or charity of donor’s choice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
