Reathyl “Rim” Brummett

A visitation for Reathyl “RIM” Irene Brummett, 96, Lawrence will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private family burial will be held at Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, KS.

Reathyl was born January 18, 1921 in Blueridge, MO the daughter of Rev. Alfred Earl and Vera Lucile (Price) Meek.

She was a purchasing assistant for Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was a life-long member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She married Melvin George Brummett on April 17, 1949 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death April 13, 1977.

Survivors include her daughters, Melody (Ray) Parsons, Raytown, MO, Margaret Brummett, Lawrence; two grandchildren, Lucas Gabriel Rawlings, Kathleen Elizabeth (Russ) Saylor; and one great grandchild on the way.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to Southern Nazarene University or Douglas County Visiting Nurses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
