Rhian Michael Dey

Rhian Michael Dey, age 41 Baldwin City, Kansas was called home on Saturday September 15, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Visitation will be held before the service from 9-10 AM.

Rhian was born on August 16, 1977, in Lawrence KS. He attended Sunset Elementary and West Junior High School, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1994. Rhian took coursework at Johnson County Community College and was certified in many areas within technology.

Rhian had a passion for music. He pursued his love by DJ’ing and spinning old records and LP’s as well as composing, mixing and mastering music electronically. Rhian cared deeply for animals and cherished his three Pitbull sisters, Jade, Ellie, and Harley.

Rhian was married to Cullie Lawrence in June 2001. They later divorced. They had two daughters, Savanna and Maya, who were his pride and joy. He loved spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his nephew Cainan Shutt.

In addition to his daughters, Savanna and Maya, he is survived by his mother, Peggy Dey, stepfather, Bill McNish of Baldwin City; Father, Denny Dey (Jayne) of Lenexa, Kansas, brothers, Erik (Angie) and Nathan Dey (Clara Wilson), of Baldwin City, and sister-in-law, Ann Dey, Oak Grove, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for an educational fund to be set up for his daughters in care of Peggy Dey/Warren-McElwain Mortuary or to the Lawrence Humane Society.
