Robert Virgil Brill

Robert Virgil Brill, 71, passed January 20, 2023. There will be a Visitation 6-8 pm Friday, January 27 followed by a prayer service 8-8 :30 pm at St. John the Evangelist Church, Lawrence, KS.  Funeral, Saturday, Jan.28, 10AM, also at St. John the Evangelist Church.

Bob was born July 5, 1951, to Bob Brill and Alice Brill (nee Head) now deceased.

He married his dear wife, Ruth Entwistle, September 2, 1989, and together they have found love and given joy through music, science, books, games, prayer, wit, and wonderful food.  Bob was an excellent cook! The Brill/Entwistle hospitality embraced many from near and far with sincere warmth and fun. Bob’s generosity extended beyond family and the workplace, (ICL Chemicals), to tutoring Woodlawn grade schoolers, providing help to the homeless, teaching catechism to adults, and driving cross country with truckloads of necessities to remote Native American reservations.

Bob leaves his blessing upon his wife, Ruth, daughter, Sara Brill (Ryan Drake), sons Robert Brill, Nicholas Brill, and Benjamin Brill, three grandchildren- Elijah Brill, Silas Drake and Oscar Drake, his sister Kathleen Riley, and brother Richard Brill (Bonny), 7 nieces, 5 nephews, 3 great nieces and many relatives and friends.

Bob was a true Franciscan. He believed the very best way to serve God was to serve other people. In deeds and words, he was always a good neighbor- truly like the good Samaritan. We know that Bob’s mission of love and peace will be carried out by his relatives, friends, and his Franciscan brothers and sisters. He rests now in peace in the palm of God’s hands.
