Rodney “Rod” Ray Evinger

Funeral services for Rodney “Rod” Ray Evinger, 63, Eudora, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. Burial will follow at the Vinland Cemetery. He passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his home.

Rod was born October 6, 1952 in Osawatomie, KS the son of Lawrence O. and Meda M. (McRoberts) Evinger. He graduated from Eudora High School in 1970.

Rod honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman stationed in Germany, from 1970 to 1972.

He married Terri Lynn Reding May 1, 1981 in Miami, OK. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his daughter, Jessica and husband, Aaron Hachmeister, Topeka, KS; son Rod Evinger, Jr., Lincoln, KS; sister, Karen Evinger-Irvine, Manhattan, KS; and brothers, Terry Evinger, and David Evinger, both of Eudora. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Evinger.

He was a Glass Technician at AGC Glass Manufacturing Plant in Spring Hill, KS from 1988 to 2016.

He enjoyed fishing, watching the Royals and KU Basketball. He was a loyal supporter of law enforcement. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

The family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 22nd one hour prior to the service at the mortuary in Eudora.

Memorials may be made in his name to Visiting Nurses or the American Lung Association and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
