Rodger “Scott” Brink, 75 of Gardner, Kansas, passed away on April 28th, 2026, at Overland Park Regional Hospital.
Scott was born on August 13, 1950, in Ottawa, Kansas to Rodger and Donna (Fisher) Brink. Scott graduated from Olathe North High School in 1968. He spent two years at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma before joining the Navy in 1970. From 1971 to 1973 Scott was stationed in the Philippines/ San Miguel, after which he did a tour on the U.S.S. Wichita AOR-1. During his time in the Navy, Scott became a Shellback, and accomplishment he was very proud of.
After the Navy, Scott spent some time in California before settling back in Kansas. Scott dedicated his life to raising his daughters, Tiffany Fishburn (Brink) of Lawrence, KS and Courtney Brink of Raleigh, North Carolina. His second love, the Kansas City Chiefs. Scott was an avid fan; he never missed a game or passed up an opportunity to collect memorabilia. For work, Scott spent numerous years in the manufacturing industry. First at AEM in Olathe, Kansas and Spring Hill, Kansas, then Huhtamaki in DeSoto Kansas before retiring. In retirement, Scott was able to explore some of his interests including riding his Harley, playing guitar, enjoying music, and his favorite, spending time with his granddaughters, Anna and Emma Fishburn (Tiffany and Jay), who lovingly referred to him as “Bogo”, a perfect reflection of his lifelong, playful spirit and ability to bring smiles to everyone around him.
Scott is survived by his daughters Tiffany (Jay) Fishburn, and Courtney Brink, his granddaughters Anna and Emma Fishburn; His sister Stacey (Mike) Boyles of Burleson, Texas; sister-in-law Kelly Facteau of Olathe, Kansas; nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Rodger and Donna (Fisher) Brink and brother David Brink.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a local veteran’s charity of choice.
