Roetta Mcmaster

d. March 1, 2013

Roetta Irene (Blann) McMaster, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on March 1, 2013, at the home, after a brief battle with cancer. Her husband and son were with her as she passed. Visitation will be at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary- Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora, Kansas, on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Chapel service will be at Warren-McElwain- Eudora Chapel, on Thursday March 7, 2013, at 10:00 am.

Roetta was born on February 8, 1950, and was the eldest of five children born to Ralph Henry Blann and Ruby Pauline (Baecker) Blann of Lawrence, Kansas, who have both preceded her in death. She was married to William E. Allee of Kansas City from 1965 to 1972 with whom she had a son. She was also married to Jesse O. Strang of Kansas City from 1974 to 1982. She married her current husband, Michael D. McMaster, in 1983, and they have enjoyed almost 30 years of happiness together.

With the exception of five years on the west coast, Roetta was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. She attended North Kansas City High School and graduated from Maple Woods Community College in 1984 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science for Data Processing. She worked as a Data Entry Supervisor for Dolgin’s in North Kansas City and for Jackson County in downtown Kansas City. She collected Madame Alexander dolls, enjoyed watching bad science fiction movies with her husband, and loved mysteries in any form — novels, movies, and on TV.

Roetta was a loving wife and devoted mother, and her smile will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Michael D. McMaster of the home, son William A. Allee of the home, brother Rance Blann of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, sisters Roxann Blann, Robyn Blann, and Rendra Blann all of Lawrence, Kansas, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the American Cancer Society or Planned Parenthood of Kansas City and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
