Rosalie Mary Waner (Pickert) was born on September 9, 1932, went to her heavenly home on July, 11, 2024 at the age of 91. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rosalie was a woman of faith, who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church for over 70 years and a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella.
A native of Scipio, Ks, Rosalie graduated from Garnet High School in 1950. Not long after, she met Thomas Waner and they were married March 16, 1953.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Waner, great-grand daughter Kalia Dailey, parents Fred and Hilda Pickert, brother Kenneth Pickert and sisters, Elaine Kruse and Betty McArdle.
Survivors include sons Stephen Waner, Idaho Falls, ID, Kevin Waner, Lawrence, KS, daughters Janice Day (Philip) Sarasota, FL, Sharon Dailey (Bruce) Fernandina Beach, FL, and Patricia Weig of Colchester, CT. Also surviving are grandchildren, Blake Dailey (Elana), Palm City, FL, Brett Dailey (Keli), Warrensburg, MO, Kyle Dailey (Brittany), Fernandina Beach, FL, and Jaime Weig of Colchester, CT. Great grandchildren, Blake Jr., Olivia, Palm City, FL, Jonah, Juliet, Brooks and Bryce, Warrensburg, MO, Landon, Lilly, Evelyn, Erin and Elijah, Fernandina Beach, FL, and Jenna and Jayden of Colchester, CT. Additional survivors are brothers Gerald Pickert, Scipio, KS and Leon Pickert of Lawrence, KS, their wives, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 on Friday, July 19 th , 2024 at Warren-McElwain Funeral Home, Lawrence, KS. A rosary will immediately follow.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 20 th , 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St John’s Catholic Church in Lawrence. Graveside burial will follow at St. Boniface Church Cemetery, Scipio, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Good Shepard Hospice, Lawrence, KS and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13 th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
