Graveside services for Ruth Jeanette Beers Nelson, 89, Topeka, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence. Kansas. She died March 5, 2011 at Medicalodges in Eudora, Kansas.
She was born January 2, 1922 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Charles Arthur and Edith Grace (Brockett) Pieratt.
She was a graduate of Oread University. She worked as an Executive Housekeeper for KU Watkins Hospital and retired in 1996. She also owned a Betty B’s Dress Shop in Baldwin City, KS.
She married Dale Beers and he preceded her in death 1981. In 1985 she married Curtis T. Nelson in Ozawkie, KS and he preceded her in death in August 2008.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa Mears, Topeka, KS; two sons, Roger Beers, Westerville, OH and Norman Beers, Lawrence, KS; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
