Ruth Sargent Jones

Private graveside services for Ruth Sargent Jones, 88, Lawrence will be held at Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, NE.

Ruth was born October 20, 1925 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Klein) Sargent.

She earned her B.S. Degree in 1948 from the University of Nebraska.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lawrence, PEO Chapter HZ, Lawrence, Alvamar Country Club, Lawrence, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, the Hospital Guild, Grand Rapids, MI, and Infant Welfare, Western Springs, IL.

She married Rex Jones on December 28, 1947. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Rodney Jones, Weston, CT, Randall Jones, Clarendon Hills, IL; two daughters, Rhonda Reusch, Overland Park, KS, Janice Meissbach, Lawrence; six grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Chicago, IL, Jennifer Calvert, Prairie Village, KS, Kyle Hawkins, Overland Park, KS, Paul Meissbach, John Meissbach, Anna Meissbach, all of Lawrence; one great grandson, Braxton Calvert, Prairie Village, KS.

The family will greet friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials in her name to LMH Endowment Association – Pulmonary Department and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
