Sally Marie Mcclure Glover

Funeral services for Sally Marie McClure Glover, 83, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 21, 1931 in Lawrence the youngest child of Charles R. and Kathleen O’Brien Topping. Other siblings were Mary Elizabeth Olsen, Jane Wendell Topping Combest, and James R. Topping. James (Jim) survives in Minnesota.

She married Max McClure March 12, 1950 in Randolph, KS. He preceded her in death May 28, 1999. She later married Herschel Glover April 5, 2003 in Lawrence, KS. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include one daughter, Martha (David) Miller, Eugene, OR; three sons, John W. (Becky) McClure, David C. (Lynn) McClure and granddaughter Savannah Goldston of Lawrence, Steve (Angie) McClure, Lecompton; and two grandchildren, Matt (Nikki) McClure, Gardner and their children, Jake, Addison, and Emily, and Christine (Justin) Mayer, Eudora and their children, McKenzie and Campbell.

Sally worked for many years as the Group Tour Director for King Travel in Topeka, where she organized and led vacation tour groups all over the world.

She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church. She was also a member of the Kanawaka Literary Club, and volunteered with Herschel every Friday at the Lawrence Visitor’s Center.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Plymouth Congregational Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
